Dear Valued Friend,

Woke up this morning to the melodic sound of birds singing at my window sill, celebrating the beginning of the season of hope and renewal. May this spring season bring healing for humankind and bring you our good wishes during this unprecedented time. As I reflect on the events of the past few weeks, I have put together a few thoughts while outlining some tips to boost your immune system naturally.

REFLECTIONS ON COVID-19

When a young ophthalmologist from Wuhan, China pointed out to his medical school classmates in late December that he had stumbled upon a new strain of the common cold virus (coronavirus) which resembled the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) virus, they were caught by surprise. As more cases emerged, it began to appear similar to the first SARS pandemic that had spread throughout China, Hong Kong, Taiwan & Singapore between November 2002 and August 2003.

Little did they know that this novel (new) strain would be far more contagious, transmitting from person to person, by air and by touching contaminated surfaces where it can linger up to 3 days. After crossing international borders, seas, oceans and continents, it was finally declared a global pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO) on Wednesday, March 11th, 2020.

ONE HEARTBEAT

ONE SHARED PURPOSE

TOGETHER WE FACE

THIS GLOBAL PANDEMIC

As this novel virus SARS-CoV-2 commonly known as COVID-19 (Coronavirus Disease 2019) began rapidly spreading throughout the world and lockdowns became the norm, we started wondering how a microbe, invisible to the naked eye, could bring the whole world to a screeching halt?

WHAT YOU CAN DO

Please practice healthy lifestyle choices to strengthen your immunity and help alleviate stress such as, walking, singing, gardening, cooking, painting, reading, writing poetry, playing the ukulele, and reconnecting with your inner child during this quiet time of reflection. Daily alarming updates about this virus have saturated TV, radio & social media platforms, placing a toll on our adrenal system and further weakening our immunity. Breathing, meditation and adrenal support are recommended at this time.

BREATHE

3-Minute Mindful Breathing Meditation (Relieve Stress)

HYDRATE

Attempt to drink one half your body weight in ounces daily. (0.5 ounce of water for each pound of your body weight every day, i.e: 100lbs = 50oz)

DIET

See attached document for IMOC’s Anti Inflammatory diet

MEDITATE

Calm or Insight Timer

SLEEP

By 9 PM to kick-start the nocturnal detoxification cycle

Our thoughts go out to those who have lost loved ones to this pandemic. Praying for patients’ speedy recovery, for the health of hospital staff and for mother nature to continue to heal. As we leave our winter hibernation behind, the team at IMOC wishes each one of you the best of health. Please see the tab "COVID-19" in the menu for information related to our post-COVID office modifications and CDC guidelines.

Sincerely,

Your IMOC Team
